Wellesley & Co won the ‘Best Peer-to-Peer Lender’ Award at the Shares Awards Gala Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, last night.
Up against six main competitors, we took home the gong in the category’s first year. As the Peer-to-Peer Lending Sector has grown exponentially over the past few years, Shares Magazine felt it necessary to create a new category which represented the Peer-to-Peer Lending Sector – ‘Best Peer-to- Peer Lender’.

This year, large changes have been seen within the Peer-to-Peer lending space, one major development unveiled will see the inclusion of Peer-to-Peer lending within ISA wrappers next year. This is a prominent feature and illustrates that the industry is being accepted and valued by the British Government as a straightforward and valuable way by which consumers can nurture their investment pots. Wellesley is looking forward to seeing how the industry will be shaped by the advancements and will continue to push forward with innovative products, which effectively fulfil customers’ investment criteria.
Wellesley is a unique Peer-to-Peer lending platform that sees the company invest in each loan before their investors. Further to this, if a loan repayment is missed by a borrower, (which has not been the case as we have yet to see a borrower default on payments which has seen invested money lost), we would lose our funds first before any investor. To provide further confidence in the security of our Peer-to-Peer lending model, we spread all invested monies across our entire loan book. This gives each investor the maximum level of diversification possible at any given time through our Auto-Matching tool. Investors can start with as little as £10 and see their funds grow by up-to 6.32% per annum. It must be noted that investing through Peer-to-Peer lending platforms such as Wellesley & Co, sees investors capital at risk and we would advise any potential investors to seek independent professional advice prior to the commitment of funds.
Winning this award illustrates that we are again, being rewarded by our most valuable and important judges, our consumers. The win reaffirms that our core value of delivering consumer lead products is a desired attribute for an investment platform. As a company, we work closely together, the Directors and the Customer Service Team work in unison to understand what investors want out of their chosen investments. There is not one significant feedback that is not circulated amongst the Wellesley Team.
