Britain Is a Hotspot For Property Investors

It has been reported that the UK’s housing shortage, combined with the country’s strong economic growth, has made it the fourth most lucrative country for property investors. Estate agents Savills, who unveiled the research, stated that the results were formed on economic performance and future growth predictions which ran in conjunction with population growth within the UK. “When a growing population, growing affluence and limited housing or land supply converge, we would anticipate real house price growth,” said Yolande Barnes, director of Savills. The UK ranked just below the USA in first place, then UAE in second and Singapore for the third most profitable residential property investment locations in the world.

In the current investment landscape, attractive opportunities that will see investors reap decent rates of return are few and far between. The Bank of England has maintained the Base Rate at an all-time low of 0.5% for six years; this rate is used as the benchmark for other interest rates set by banks. Given the resultant unappealing rates of return  offered by mainstream providers, investors are seeking alternative routes by which they can efficiently grow their funds. An example of this is the increased utilisation of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending platforms. With their innovative models and attractive rates of return, it’s no surprise that investors are opting to use them over high street  banks and other deposit takers.

Wellesley & Co is a P2P lending platform with a unique business model and a straightforward approach to investing in property. We make asset-backed loans to property developers throughout the UK, and then invite our investors to lend their money alongside ours to our individually selected, experienced developers and in turn, offer those investors a rate of return of up to 6.32% per annum. This therefore, gives investors a novel opportunity to invest in the thriving British property market.

Our investment terms range from 30 days to five years and we promise to pay interest from the day funds are committed. At Wellesley, we want to make sure that all of our investors are completely comfortable with their investments and invite people to begin lending with as little as £10, with the scope to invest further if Wellesley suits them. We are also keen to highlight that investments made through Wellesley & Co involve lending to individuals and companies and therefore your capital is at risk and interest payments are not guaranteed if the borrower defaults. We urge potential investors to understand all of the risks involved before committing to any Wellesley investment term.
