How much can I invest?

The minimum investment is £1,000, with denominations thereafter of £1,000. There is no maximum investment.

Is my investment covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme?

No, your investment is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

What risks do I need to be aware of when investing in the bond?

Investment into the Wellesley Property Bond involves risks to your capital and interest payments. In the event that a borrower was unable to repay a loan, Wellesley would attempt to recover the funds outstanding, however such security arrangements do not guarantee full return of capital and interest to the bond holder.

How long is the Wellesley Property Bond available for?

The current subscription of the Wellesley Property Bond (Round 4) is due to close on the 28th of September at 5pm.

Who can invest in the Wellesley Property Bond?

Any individual who is over the age of 18, or a trust, business or charity that are residents of the UK.

Where is the bond listed?

The bonds will be listed on the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) on the listing date, following the closing of the subscription period.

Is the Wellesley Property Bond transferable?

Yes, the Wellesley Property Bond which will be listed on the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) and is a transferable security that can be either sold or transferred to another third party. There are no restrictions on sale or transfer, this alone does not guarantee that you will be able to exit your investment early and there must be a willing party available to purchase your bond in such an instance.

Is my investment ISA eligible?

The Wellesley Property Bond is an ISA eligible investment, allowing you to earn tax free interest on your investment.

Please note, tax allowances and the tax efficient benefits of ISAs could change in the future. 

Do I earn interest straight away?

Interest will begin to accrue from the listing date until the redemption date of the Wellesley Property Bond. The listing date for the current issue is 4th October 2017.

How is interest calculated?

You will earn interest at a fixed rate for the full length of your bond term.

What happens if the Wellesley Property Bond does not list?

Your money will remain in your account and will be ready for use on the next bond application. If you wish to withdraw your money, please contact The Share Centre on 01296 414141.
